The government has introduced the Net Energy Metering (NEM 3.0) Scheme in February 2021 with quota allocated of 100MW for Domestic under NEM Rakyat. Aside, the government has allocated 100MW for Government Building under NEM GoMen and 300MW for Commercial & Industrial users under NOVA in April 2021.
The concept of NEM Rakyat allows an eligible residential consumer to install a Solar PV System primarily for own use and can export any excess power / “unused” solar generated energy back to the grid in exchange for credit (credit roll over up to 12 months) that used to offset the electricity bill.
NEM NOVA allows an eligible business consumer to install a Solar PV System primarily for own use and can export any excess power to the Grid in exchange for credit (credit roll-over for 1 month) at SMP Price (System Marginal Price) that used to offset their electricity bills.
